Clayton Brooks has served as the Worship Pastor of The Oaks Fellowship in Red Oak, TX, for four years. The Oaks has been his home church since the age of 10. He attributes his start in worship ministry to his Senior Pastor, Pastor Scott Wilson, who had him start playing keyboard for the youth group in 1998. He attributes his current understanding of worship leading and pastoring to multiple influences, including his former worship pastor, Rachel Hunter (wife of Dan Hunter, Pastor of Living Church in Mansfield, TX). In 2003, Clayton graduated with a degree in Church Ministries from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, TX. Not long after graduating, he married the love of his life, Andrea Mourning, who currently serves as The Oaks Fellowship Kids Pastor. They have been married 9 years and have 2 boys, Connor Louis and Cayden Lane.
Since his journey in worship ministry began, Clayton has been able to participate in multiple recording projects at The Oaks. He has helped write and produce music for 8 church worship albums spanning from 2003 to the present. The church’s three most recent albums he has co-produced with Christian recording artists, Shane and Shane. He has had multiple songs recorded by other artists including: CFNI, Tim Clifton, and Nathan Walker. Clayton spends most of his songwriting time on songs he hopes will provide fresh, relevant, and biblical avenues of expression for the Church to give to Jesus. Some of his songs you may have heard or sung include: Pour Your Spirit, Every Good Gift, Take Me In, and To Be Like You.
Clayton also spends much of his time working closely with the Oaks School of Leadership, where he oversees their worship internship and the training of future worship pastors for the Church. Every week his interns write songs for Jesus and the Church in addition to learning about the heart and techniques of worship ministry.
